A Biblical Timeline Banner Gives A Creative Approach To Help Teach Biblical Events And Principles

Regrettably, a numerous Pastors and teachers in our churches go on and preach flimsy, light weight, shallow, superficial messages and their Church members scarcely grow in biblical knowledge. Preachers love to give us'moral essays' and'warming affirmations' because supposedly, if we really love our people this is what we will do. Regrettable it seems, if God's men and women are falling through the cracks'for an absence of knowledge' so long as we are positive and loving to all. Truly, the more relevant we become to the world, the less relevant we are to the world.
Some years ago, I was speaking on the death, burial, life and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and a retired minister and strong preacher of Scripture, who had been a minister for forty years, came up and reproved me smartly over some fascinating points I made and he said 1Ti 1:4'Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.' I humbly asked him if I was preaching anything of a heretical nature in any way, to which he answered"No". I continued to explain that in the case of that particular verse, it was not speaking to examining the Bible but to the false teaching and school of thought of Gnosticism, but he wouldn't have it. So, how can a forty year minister & worker in the Gospel, not know and understand about something that probably half the books of the New Testament relate to?
How could he study and teach the Bible clearly without being familiar with something that was so influential in the New Testament church? And then how can the congregation hope to figure out these things and be able to understand their Bible well, if they're not informed?
Let's us as tutors and preachers stitch together the aspects of the Bible and God's plan into a logical whole that our people are able to draw on for the rest of their lives, helping them to figure out God, His Eternal Plan, the function of the Church and ways to better translate the Bible to order our lives by.
It is not difficult to do, and it is not boring if we are prepared to put in a bit of effort prayer and fervor, and just maybe you can use a Bible Timeline also.
