A Bible Timeline Chart Offers A Graphic Representation To Convey Bible Events And Characters And Truths

Regrettably, a many preachers and Bible teachers in our churches continue to preach flimsy, superficial, shallow, light weight sermons and their congregation hardly grow in biblical knowledge. Preachers love to give us'moral essays' and'warming affirmations' because supposedly, if we really love our people this is what we'll do. Unfortunate it seems, if God's men and women are falling through the cracks'for an absence of knowledge' so long as we're positive and loving to all. In truth, the more relevant we become to our world, the less relevant we're to our world.
Years ago, I was speaking on the burial, death, resurrection and life of Christ Jesus, and a retired minister and powerful preacher of the Bible, who had been in the ministry for 40 years, came to me and reproved me smartly over some interesting points I made and he referred to 1Ti 1:4'Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.' I humbly asked him if I was teaching anything of a heretical nature at all, to which he answered"No". I continued on to spell out that in the case of that particular Scripture, it was not referring to exploring the Bible but to the false teachings and philosophy of Gnosticism, but he wouldn't have it. Let me ask, how can a 40 year minister & worker in the Gospel, not understand and know about something that probably half the books of the New Testament relate to?
How can he understand and preach the Bible in fullness without being aware of something that was so influential in the New Testament church? And then how can the congregation hope to understand these things and be in a position to interpret their Bible effectively, if they are not told?
Let's us as tutors and preachers stitch together the aspects of the Bible and His plan into a logical whole that our people can draw on for the rest of life, to help them to understand God, His Eternal Plan, the function of the Church and ways to better translate the Bible to order our lives by.
It is not hard to do, and it's not boring if we're ready to put in a bit of study with prayer and fervor, and just maybe you can employ a Bible Timeline too.
