A Bible Timeline Chart Presents A Graphical Way To Convey Bible Events And Characters And Facts

In a Bible group years ago, a woman who had been a Christian and worked in the local Church for over 15 years, said,"Yes, but Abraham had the Law and so he understood about......" (they weren't talking about the pre-Moses law) I wonder how many Christians will actually pick up the error in this claim. Moses came about 500 years after Abraham and so it is not possible. I have since made up a Biblical timeline banner and explained more visually the chronology of individuals and events.

Some years ago, I was preaching on the resurrection, life, death and burial of Jesus Christ, and a retired minister and powerful preacher of the Bible, who had been in the ministry for forty years, came to me and reproved me smartly over some fascinating points I made and he said 1Ti 1:4'Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.' I quietly asked him if I was preaching anything of a heretical nature in any way, to which he answered"No". I continued to describe that in the case of that particular Scripture, it wasn't referring to examining the Bible but to the false teachings and school of thought of Gnosticism, but he would not have it. Let me ask, how can a forty year minister & laborer in the Gospel, not understand and know about something that possibly 1/2 the books of the New Testament discuss?
How can he understand and preach the Bible clearly without being familiar with something that was so influential in the New Testament church? And then how can the congregation hope to comprehend these things and be able to understand their Bible well, if they are not informed?
Let's us as teachers and preachers stitch together the aspects of the Bible and His plan into a complete picture that our people are able to draw on for the rest of their lives, to help them to comprehend God, His Eternal Plan, the role of the Church and ways to better interpret the Bible to live by.
It's not hard to do, and it is not boring if we are prepared to put in a bit of study and prayer and fervor, and just possibly you can use a Bible Timeline also.
